About the Scholarship
The University of Edinburgh’s Global Online Scholarships are designed to support and attract high-achieving international students to its renowned distance learning programs. Each scholarship covers full tuition fees for the normal duration of the chosen Master’s program, making advanced education more accessible and affordable.
Eligibility Requirements
Applicants must:
- Be nationals and residents of eligible developing countries.
- Have applied and been offered a place for any online part-time learning Master’s program starting in the 2024-2025 academic session.
- Exhibit academic excellence and a strong personal statement. Priority is given to applicants who have not previously had the opportunity to study at the Master’s level.

Application Process
- Application for Admission: Candidates must first apply and be admitted to one of the eligible online Master’s programs at the University of Edinburgh.
- Scholarship Application: Once admitted, applicants can proceed to apply for the scholarship. Access to the scholarship application form is through EUCLID, the University’s student information system, and can be accessed via MyEd portal.
- Submit Personal Statement: Your application must include a personal statement that outlines:
- What attracted you to the program at the University of Edinburgh.
- How completing this program will impact your career and personal development.
- How you plan to utilize your newly acquired skills to contribute to your community or country.
Required Documents
- Personal Statement as outlined above.
- Proof of Admission: A conditional or unconditional offer letter from the University.
- Educational Certificates and Transcripts: Relevant documents supporting your prior educational achievements.
Notification of Outcome
All applicants will be informed of the scholarship outcome by mid-July 2024.
