Zhengzhou University President Scholarship Details
To enhance international exchange and cooperation, and attract excellent international students to study in China, the Zhengzhou University President Scholarship sponsors outstanding postgraduate students, especially those pursuing doctorate degrees, at Zhengzhou University.
Zhengzhou University, the largest university in China with around 73,000 students, is ranked #510 in Best Global Universities. The university offers two intakes each year, in March and September. The application season for the March intake runs from October 15 to December 15 of the previous year, while the September intake runs from March 1 to June 15.
Requirements to study in China
To qualify for the Zhengzhou University President Scholarship, applicants must:
- Be a non-Chinese citizen, physically healthy, and without a criminal record.
- Abide by the laws and regulations of the People’s Republic of China as well as the regulations of Zhengzhou University.
- Demonstrate a good learning attitude and have a solid academic foundation and intellectual potential to become a highly specialized researcher or expert.
- Not be a registered PhD student in a Chinese university at the time of application.
- Have an excellent academic record in a master’s program or higher degree (for Pakistani applicants, this should be an 18-year master’s) and be under 40 years old.
- Show IELTS results of 6.5 or higher if they are from non-English speaking countries.

- CV and passport (valid for at least one more year).
- Signed highest diploma (photocopy).
- Original or notarized copies of degree certificates and complete transcripts of both undergraduate and postgraduate studies (students or employed applicants should additionally submit study or employment certificates).
- Notarized translations of documents not in Chinese or English.
- Statement of research interest and research proposal.
- Two recommendation letters from professors, including their contact email and phone number.
- Official score report of HSK, TOEFL, IELTS, or other language proficiency tests.
- Physical examination record, including blood test reports (valid only for 6 months).
- Original or notarized copies of a no-criminal certificate.
