    London School of Hygiene First Generation Scholarship Insights

    In an effort to democratize education and open doors for historically underrepresented groups in postgraduate education, LSHTM introduces the First Generation Scholarship. Aimed at kickstarting the academic journey of students commencing their distance learning programme in the 2024-25 academic session, this scholarship embodies LSHTM’s commitment to educational inclusivity and excellence.

    For over two decades, LSHTM has pioneered online learning programmes, enabling students to engage in their studies flexibly and successfully, irrespective of their global location or personal circumstances.

    Eligibility Requirements for LSHTM First Generation Scholarship

    To be considered for the LSHTM First Generation Scholarship, you must:

    • meet minimum English language requirements;
    • must hold an offer of admission by 6 April 2024.
    • hold an offer of admission for 2024-25 for one of LSHTM’s 6 distance learning MSc programmes of study;
    • The first in their family to enter higher education, meaning where neither of the applicant’s mother or father (biological, adoptive or foster) or guardian(s) had graduated with a university degree
    • You will not be eligible for the First Generation scholarship if you already have a master’s degree, or a qualification that’s higher than a master’s degree.

    Benefits of London School of Hygiene First Generation Scholarship

    • The recipients will be expected to finish their respective programme within five years of registration. 
    • The LSHTM First Generation Scholarship provides full tuition fees.
