This program, renewed by the Mastercard Foundation, will run from 2023 to 2034, offering 1,000 scholarships over ten years.
Requirements to Study in Africa
To be considered for the MasterCard Scholarship at Makerere University, you must:
- Be eligible for admission at Makerere University’s main campus.
- Have completed Advanced Level education (or its equivalent) in an African country (Undergraduate Applicants).
- Have completed a Bachelor’s Degree in an African country (Masters Applicants).
- Demonstrate leadership potential and a record of community service.
- Not hold any other scholarship.
- Not exceed 28 years of age (Undergraduates) or 35 years of age (Masters) at the time of application.
- For refugees and students with disabilities, not exceed 32 years (Undergraduates) or 40 years (Masters).
