About this scholarship
The Aga Khan Foundation provides a limited number of scholarships each year for postgraduate studies to outstanding students from select developing countries who have no other means of financing their studies. The Foundation gives priority to requests for Master’s degrees, but PhD funding is also considered. Scholarships are awarded on a 50% grant and 50% interest-free loan basis. The Foundation has supported over 1,000 scholars since 1969.
Eligibility
Must be a citizen of one of the eligible countries (primarily developing countries in Africa, Asia, and the Middle East). Must have been admitted to or be enrolled in a reputable university. Must have no other scholarship or funding source. Priority given to Master's students. Must demonstrate financial need and strong academic potential. Must be willing to repay 50% of the award as an interest-free loan.
Benefits & Coverage
Tuition fees coverage, living expenses support, travel costs, study materials allowance, 50% of the award is an outright grant, the remaining 50% is an interest-free loan repayable after graduation, access to the Aga Khan Development Network professional community

How to Apply
- Secure admission to a Master's or PhD programme first
- Contact the local Aga Khan Foundation office in your country of residence
- Obtain and complete the application form from that local office
- Submit transcripts, admission proof, references, and financial documents by the local deadline
