About this scholarship
The Canada-ASEAN Scholarships and Educational Exchanges for Development (SEED) program provides students from ASEAN member states with short-term study or research opportunities at Canadian post-secondary institutions. Funded by the Government of Canada, the program supports exchanges of 4 to 8 months and aims to strengthen people-to-people ties between Canada and ASEAN nations. Priority areas include education, STEM, sustainable economic growth, and governance.
Eligibility
Must be a citizen of an ASEAN member state (Brunei, Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, Vietnam). Must be enrolled at a recognized post-secondary institution in an ASEAN country. For college exchanges: must be enrolled in a college or technical institute. For undergraduate exchanges: must have completed at least one year of study. For graduate exchanges: must be enrolled in a Master's or PhD program.

- Visa and travel costs to and from Canada
- Health insurance for the duration of the exchange
- Living allowance of CAD $10,200 (undergraduate) to $15,900 (graduate/postdoc)
- Books and supplies allowance
- One-time establishment allowance

How to Apply
- Students cannot apply directly
- Identify an existing collaboration or exchange agreement between your home institution and a Canadian institution
- The Canadian host institution applies online on your behalf via the My EduCanada portal before the deadline
