About This Scholarship
CERN, the European Organization for Nuclear Research in Geneva, Switzerland, hosts the world's largest and most powerful particle accelerator — the Large Hadron Collider. The CERN Doctoral Student Programme offers fully funded positions for PhD students working on their thesis in experimental or theoretical particle physics, applied physics, computing, engineering, or related fields. Students spend 6 to 36 months at CERN conducting research under the supervision of a CERN staff member while registered for a PhD at their home university. This is one of the most prestigious scientific research opportunities in the world.
