About this scholarship
The Chinese Government Scholarship (CSC), administered by the China Scholarship Council under the Ministry of Education, is one of the world’s most comprehensive government scholarship programmes. It supports international students at over 280 designated Chinese universities for undergraduate, Master’s, PhD, and non-degree programmes. China’s universities have risen dramatically in global rankings, with Peking University and Tsinghua now in the top 15. The CSC programme awards thousands of scholarships annually across all academic disciplines.
Eligibility
Open to citizens of all countries except China. Must be in good health. Must meet age requirements (under 25 for Bachelor, under 35 for Master, under 40 for PhD). Must have completed relevant prior degree. For English-taught programmes: IELTS 6.0+ or TOEFL 80+. For Chinese-taught programmes: HSK Level 4 or willingness to complete Chinese language training.

How to Apply
- Register on the CSC Online Application System (studyinchina.csc.edu.cn)
- Choose your category: Type A (via Chinese embassy/bilateral), Type B (via the university), or Type C
- Obtain the agency number and apply to your chosen Chinese university and/or embassy
- Submit transcripts, study plan, physical examination form, and references before the deadline
