The Commonwealth Shared Scholarships are jointly funded by the UK Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO) and participating UK universities. These scholarships are aimed at students from least developed and lower middle-income Commonwealth countries who could not otherwise afford to study in the UK. Around 150 scholarships are awarded annually for one-year taught Master's programs. The program emphasizes development impact and expects scholars to return home and apply their learning to benefit their communities.
