ETH Zurich Excellence Scholarship (ESOP)

The Excellence Scholarship & Opportunity Programme (ESOP) at ETH Zurich supports the most talented Master’s students from around the world. It covers tuition and provides a generous living grant at one of the world’s top-ranked universities for science and technology.

Open to all nationalities. Must be in the top 10% of Bachelor's degree program (self-assessed Grade A). First-time Master's applicants at ETH Zurich only. Cannot already hold a Master's degree.

• Full tuition fee waiver (CHF 730/semester for all students)
• Living and study expenses grant of CHF 12,000 per semester (CHF 24,000/year)
• Total value: approximately CHF 25,000 per year for 1.5–2 years

• Have an excellent bachelor's result (around the top 10 percent, grade A)
• Apply for admission to an eligible ETH Zurich master's programme via the eApply portal during the application window (1 to 30 November)
• The scholarship application is part of the master's application and includes a master's thesis pre-proposal and two references
• Decisions are communicated by the end of March
