About this scholarship
The INPEX Scholarship Foundation provides scholarships for international students from ASEAN countries to pursue graduate studies in Japan. Japan’s world-leading expertise in energy, engineering, and environmental technologies makes this particularly valuable for students from resource-rich Southeast Asian nations.
Eligibility
- Nationals of ASEAN countries (Brunei, Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, Vietnam)
- Accepted or planning to apply to a Japanese national university
- Under 35 years of age
- Research related to natural resources, energy, or engineering

How to Apply
- Be an Indonesian citizen under 30 with a bachelor's (Sarjana) in a natural science from a prestigious Indonesian university (GPA 3.0+)
- Aim for a master's in natural science at a Japanese university
- Contact a prospective Japanese supervisor directly and secure a Letter of Acceptance
- Submit the application form and required documents to the foundation by the deadline; two-stage selection (screening committee then Board of Directors)
