Italian Government Scholarship MAECI 2027

The Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation (MAECI) annual scholarship program for foreign students and Italian citizens residing abroad (IRE). Funds Master’s degrees, AFAM programs (arts, music, dance), PhDs, research projects, and Italian language and culture courses at recognized Italian institutions.

• Citizen of one of the eligible countries (long list on MAECI website)
• Under 28 years old at deadline for Master's/AFAM/language courses
• Under 30 years old for postgraduate research
• Under 40 years old for PhD
• Not currently residing in Italy at time of application
• Not dual citizen (Italian + other)

• Monthly grant of €900, paid quarterly into an Italian bank account
• Total grant: €10,800 for 9 months (study programs) or €3,600 (language/culture courses)
• Tuition fee exemption (depends on university policy)
• Health insurance coverage
• Access to 339 English-taught courses at Italian universities

• Be a citizen of an eligible country (foreign students not residing in Italy) or an Italian citizen living abroad, meeting the age and academic requirements and the B2 language level (Italian or English)
• Apply exclusively online through the Study in Italy portal by the deadline (around late March)
• Upload your degrees/transcripts, language certificate, and (for PhD) an admission letter or (for research) a supervisor's invitation
