About this scholarship

The Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) Scholarship Program provides fully funded Master’s degree opportunities for government officials and public sector employees from partner developing countries. The program aims to build the capacity of partner countries through advanced education in development-related fields including public policy, international development, global health, agriculture, and information technology at leading Korean universities. Programs are taught in English and last 1-2 years.

Eligibility

  • Must be a citizen of a KOICA partner developing country
  • Must be a government official or public sector employee nominated by the relevant ministry in your country
  • Must have at least 2 years of work experience in a relevant field
  • Must hold a bachelor's degree
  • Must be under 40 years old at the time of application
  • Must be physically fit for study abroad
  • Must commit to returning to your home country and resuming public service after graduation
  • Must be proficient in English

Completed KOICA Scholarship application form, Government nomination letter from relevant ministry, Academic transcripts and degree certificates, Employment certificate with job description, Two recommendation letters (one from supervisor), Personal statement or study plan, English language proficiency certificate (IELTS 5.5+ or TOEFL 71+), Medical certificate, Valid passport copy, Photographs (passport-sized)

How to Apply

  • Be a citizen of a KOICA-designated partner country (from the OECD DAC list) and a government official or public-sector employee with the required experience, officially nominated by your government, preferably under 40, and not a previous KOICA/Korean Government scholarship holder
  • Submit your application and government nomination to the KOICA country office or Korean Embassy by the deadline
  • Selection runs through an embassy interview, university document screening, and further interview/medical steps
