About this scholarship
KOICA (Korea International Cooperation Agency) offers the KOICA Scholarship Program to government officials and development workers from developing countries to pursue master’s degrees at Korean universities. The program is designed to strengthen human resource capacity in developing nations by exposing future leaders to Korea’s remarkable development success story.
Eligibility
- Government officials or professionals from ODA-eligible developing countries (Africa, Asia, Latin America, Pacific)
- Must be nominated by home government
- Strong English proficiency
- 2+ years of work experience in relevant field
- Age under 40

Required Documents
- Valid passport (min 6 months validity)
- Bachelor's degree certificate and transcripts

- English language proficiency (IELTS 6.5+ or TOEFL 90+)

- Statement of purpose / Motivation letter
- Proof of financial capability (if applicable)
How to Apply
- Be a citizen of a KOICA-designated partner country (from the OECD DAC list) and a government official or public-sector employee with the required experience, officially nominated by your government, preferably under 40, and not a previous KOICA/Korean Government scholarship holder
- Submit your application and government nomination to the KOICA country office or Korean Embassy by the deadline
- Selection runs through an embassy interview, university document screening, and further interview/medical steps
