Korea University, one of South Korea’s top three universities (the “K” in “SKY” — Seoul National, Korea, Yonsei), offers generous scholarships to outstanding international graduate students. The university is renowned for its programs in law, business, political science, engineering, and international studies. The scholarship is renewable each semester based on academic performance.
Eligibility
- Must be an international student (both parents must be non-Korean nationals)
- Must hold or expect to hold a bachelor's degree (for Master's) or master's degree (for PhD) before enrollment
- Must have excellent academic records (GPA 3.5/4.0 or equivalent is competitive)
- Must meet English or Korean language proficiency requirements (TOEFL 80+, IELTS 6.0+, TOPIK Level 3+, or a degree taught in English)
- Must be able to begin studies in the upcoming semester

Completed online application form, Academic transcripts from all prior institutions (official copies with apostille or notarization), Degree certificates (with official translations if not in English or Korean), Study or research plan (2-3 pages), Two recommendation letters from professors, English or Korean language proficiency certificate, Passport copy, Portfolio or writing samples (for some departments), Financial certification
How to Apply
- Apply for admission to Korea University as an international student (undergraduate or graduate) through the online application
- Admitted international students are considered for the university's merit-based international student scholarships (tuition reductions of 50 to 100 percent, with some full-tuition and stipend awards), based on academic performance
- Some awards require completing at least one semester at KU, and certain external/sponsored scholarships have their own forms
