About this scholarship

An initiative by the Malaysian Government to attract the best global talent for postgraduate studies at leading Malaysian universities. Covers Master’s and PhD programs across all disciplines.

Eligibility

  • Open to all international students
  • Must have strong academic background with minimum CGPA of 3.5/4.0 or equivalent
  • Acceptance into a Malaysian public university required
  • Under 40 years for Master's, under 45 for PhD

Required Documents

Academic transcripts, Bachelor's/Master's degree certificate, Research proposal, Acceptance letter from Malaysian university, English proficiency test results, Two recommendation letters, Health certificate

How to Apply

  • Be a citizen of an MIS recipient country, within the age limit (around 40 for postgraduate), with a strong academic record (about Second Class Upper or CGPA 3.5/4.0), intending to pursue (or already in, with enough time remaining) full-time master's or PhD study at an approved Malaysian university
  • Secure admission (a conditional or offer letter is accepted at application)
  • Apply online through the official Ministry of Higher Education portal during the annual call (often around April to June), uploading the required documents
