About this scholarship
The McCall MacBain Scholarships at McGill University are Canada’s first comprehensive leadership-based graduate scholarships. Up to 30 full scholarships and 100 entrance awards are offered annually to outstanding applicants pursuing Master’s or professional degrees at McGill. The programme was established with a historic $200 million gift from the McCall MacBain Foundation. Scholars are selected based on character, community engagement, leadership potential, entrepreneurial spirit, and academic strength.
Eligibility
Open to all nationalities. Must be applying for a Master's or professional degree programme at McGill University for Fall 2027 entry. Must either be a current student completing a first bachelor's degree by August 2027, have earned a first bachelor's degree within the last 5 years, or have earned a degree more than 5 years ago and been 30 or younger on January 1, 2026. Must meet McGill's admission requirements.

How to Apply
- Be on track to earn (or have recently earned) your first bachelor's degree (within five years, or be 30 or younger if longer ago), meeting McGill's master's admission and language requirements
- Complete the McCall MacBain online application (separate from and before McGill admissions, with two references; current students/recent grads need institutional endorsement) by the deadline (around August/September), listing up to five eligible programmes
- Then apply separately to a McGill master's or second-entry professional programme (by the programme deadline, or by December if you reach final interviews); PhDs, part-time, executive master's, and certificates are not covered
