About this scholarship
The NL Scholarship (formerly the Holland Scholarship) is a partial scholarship co-financed by the Dutch Ministry of Education, Culture and Science and participating Dutch universities. It supports non-EEA international students who want to pursue a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree at a Dutch research university or university of applied sciences.
Eligibility
- hold a nationality from outside the EEA
- applying for a full-time bachelor’s or master’s program at a participating institution
- meet the institution’s specific academic and language requirements
- do not already have a degree from a Dutch educational institution
Benefits & Coverage
- one-time grant of financial contribution to first-year study costs
- does not replace full tuition or living expenses
Required Documents
- personal identification documents

- motivation letter or statement of purpose
- program admission materials
- language test results if required by the program
How to Apply
- select a participating institution and confirm your program is eligible
- apply for admission to the program through the institution’s system
- follow the institution’s NL Scholarship instructions and timeline
- submit any required scholarship materials through the institution
- wait for the institution to communicate results
