About this scholarship
The OPEC Fund for International Development (OFID) offers scholarships to academically gifted students from developing countries who wish to pursue Master’s degrees in development-related fields. OFID Scholars study at accredited universities worldwide and are expected to return to their home countries to apply their knowledge for national development. The scholarship has supported hundreds of students from over 100 countries since its inception.
Eligibility
Must be a citizen of an OFID partner country (developing country). Must hold a Bachelor's degree with a strong academic record. Must be admitted to or enrolled in a Master's program in a development-related field at an accredited university. Maximum age of 35 at the time of application. Must demonstrate commitment to returning home and contributing to national development.

How to Apply

- Historically: be a national of a developing country (excluding OFID member countries), aged about 23 to 32, holding (or about to complete) a bachelor's and admitted to a master's in a development-related field (development economics, energy/sustainable development, environment, or related science and technology) at any recognised university worldwide
- Register and submit the online application with transcripts, a short essay, two recommendation letters, and a CV; the award covers full tuition (paid to the institution) and related costs
