About this scholarship
Pohang University of Science and Technology (POSTECH) is one of South Korea’s most elite science and engineering universities, often called the “Caltech of Korea.” POSTECH offers fully funded PhD positions for outstanding international students in all STEM fields. Eligibility
- Open to all non-Korean nationalities
- Must hold a bachelor's or master's degree in a relevant STEM field with excellent academic results
- Must be proficient in English (TOEFL 80+ or IELTS 6.0+ — some departments may require higher)
- Must demonstrate strong research potential through prior research experience or publications
- GRE is recommended but not required for most departments

How to Apply
- Be a non-Korean citizen (or a Korean who completed all education abroad) applying for a full-time MS, MS-PhD integrated, or PhD programme (MS/integrated applicants should have completed or be finishing a bachelor's; PhD applicants a master's), meeting POSTECH's English-proficiency requirements
- Apply online through the POSTECH graduate admissions system, selecting the POSTECH Scholarship under financial resources, and submit transcripts, a research plan, references, and English test results by the intake deadline
- Admitted graduate students are funded via a Graduate Assistantship covering tuition and a living allowance
