About this scholarship
The Rotary Peace Center at Chiang Mai University in Thailand offers a fully funded Professional Development Certificate in Peace and Development for mid-career professionals. This is a blended program combining a two-week on-site introductory course, followed by applied social change initiative design, field-based work, and a final two-week capstone session. The program focuses on practical peacebuilding skills that participants can immediately apply in their professional contexts. Up to 40 fellows per year are selected from applicants across Africa, with the program designed specifically for the African context.
Eligibility
- Must be a mid-career professional with at least 5 years of relevant work experience in peacebuilding, conflict resolution, humanitarian action, or development
- Must come with a social change initiative to develop during the program
- Must have a strong commitment to cross-cultural understanding and peace
- Must have a bachelor's degree
- Must be proficient in English
- For the Chiang Mai center: candidates from Africa are prioritized (with some exceptions)
- Cannot be an active Rotary member or employee

How to Apply
- Note: the Rotary Peace Center certificate programme in Thailand is hosted at Chulalongkorn University (the title's reference to Chiang Mai appears to be an error)
- Be a mid-career professional with at least five years of relevant full-time work or volunteer experience in peace and development, a strong academic background, and a clear social-change/peace initiative; you must not be an active Rotary member
- Apply online through the Rotary Peace Fellowship application (open February to 15 May), engaging with a local Rotary club/district; if selected you complete a preliminary online course and the on-site certificate. Fully funded (tuition, travel, room and board, field study)
