About this scholarship
A highly selective scholarship for international students from developing countries who are committed to social projects in their home countries. Live in a multicultural student house in Berlin while studying at any Berlin university.
Eligibility
- Open to international students from developing and emerging countries
- Must be admitted to or enrolled in a Bachelor's or Master's program at a Berlin university
- Demonstrate social engagement and leadership

How to Apply
- Be a foreign national from a country needing development assistance (also open to recognised refugees and EU long-term residents), with good academic results (a German grade average of about 2.0 or better), demonstrated financial need, and a commitment to social engagement, including collaboration with a non-profit/social organisation in your home country
- Separately apply for and secure a place at a university or Fachhochschule in Berlin or Potsdam (the scholarship does not fund study elsewhere); a non-profit/social institution submits a recommendation letter on your behalf, after which outstanding applicants receive the application form, a project description, proof of university-entrance qualification, and household-income details
- Applications are accepted year-round; covers tuition, a monthly living allowance, shared accommodation, and sometimes travel, with recipients expected to return home for at least 18 months after graduating
