About this scholarship
Seoul National University (SNU), South Korea’s most prestigious university (ranked 31st globally), offers the SNU Global Scholarship for outstanding international graduate students. SNU is known as the “Harvard of Korea” and produces the country’s top leaders in government, business, and academia. Seoul is one of Asia’s most dynamic and technologically advanced cities. The scholarship provides comprehensive funding for Master’s and PhD students.
Eligibility
Must be a non-Korean citizen (both applicant and parents must not be Korean citizens). Must hold a Bachelor's (for Master) or Master's degree (for PhD). Must demonstrate outstanding academic achievement. Must meet English or Korean language requirements depending on the programme. Open to all academic disciplines.

SNU online application form, Academic transcripts and degree certificates, Study plan or research proposal, Two letters of recommendation, English proficiency (TOEFL 80+ or IELTS 6.0+) or Korean proficiency (TOPIK Level 4+), CV/Resume, Statement of purpose, Passport copy, Family relation certificate proving non-Korean citizenship
How to Apply
- Be an international student (you and, where required, your parents non-Korean) admitted to or currently enrolled in an SNU graduate degree programme, with at least one regular semester remaining
- Apply online through your mySNU account (Academic Affairs then Scholarship then Apply) when the SNU Global Scholarship notice opens, or submit documents to the SNU Office of Global Affairs, after receiving SNU admission
- Benefits (tuition, a monthly living allowance, and sometimes airfare/housing) vary by award category and individual circumstances
