About this scholarship
The Swedish Institute Study Scholarships (SISS) are funded by the Swedish Government and target students from eligible developing countries pursuing Master’s programs in Sweden. The scholarships aim to develop global leaders who will contribute to the UN Sustainable Development Goals. SISS provides full funding including tuition, living costs, and travel. Sweden offers world-class education, innovation, and sustainability leadership.
Eligibility
Must be a citizen of an eligible developing country (see SI country list — includes countries in South Asia, Sub-Saharan Africa, Southeast Asia, etc.). Must be applying for a Master's program starting in autumn at a Swedish university. Must have a minimum of 3,000 hours of work or volunteering experience. Must demonstrate leadership experience and commitment to sustainability. Must not already reside in Sweden.

How to Apply
- Be a citizen of one of the eligible countries (around 33 to 34 countries) with the required work experience (about 3,000 hours) and demonstrated leadership experience (from employment or civil-society engagement), and be liable to pay tuition fees in Sweden
- First apply for an eligible English-taught master's programme at universityadmissions.se by mid-January, then apply for the SI Scholarship for Global Professionals through the SI online portal during its window (around February), using the mandatory SI templates (motivation letter, CV, two reference letters, proof of work/leadership experience, passport copy)
- You must be admitted to an eligible programme by the admission results date. Note: this programme (SISGP) replaced the former Swedish Institute Study Scholarships (SISS). Fully funded: tuition, a monthly living allowance, and a one-time travel grant
