The University of Adelaide, a member of Australia’s prestigious Group of Eight research universities, offers the Global Academic Excellence Scholarship to high-achieving international students. This scholarship provides a 50% tuition fee waiver for the entire duration of the enrolled program and is automatically assessed as part of the standard admissions review — no separate scholarship application is required. This makes it one of the most accessible university scholarships in Australia. Available for both undergraduate and postgraduate coursework programs commencing in Semester 2, 2026.
Eligibility
- Must be an international student (not an Australian citizen, permanent resident, or New Zealand citizen)
- Must have applied for and received admission to a full-time undergraduate or postgraduate coursework program at the University of Adelaide starting Semester 2, 2026
- Must demonstrate outstanding academic achievement in prior studies (typically equivalent to a GPA of 6.0/7.0 or higher)
- The scholarship does not apply to Higher Degree by Research (HDR) programs, online programs, or programs offered at partner institutions

How to Apply
- Be a commencing international student in an eligible undergraduate or postgraduate coursework degree (not research degrees, and excluding certain programs) with outstanding academic merit (around a minimum ATAR of 99 to 99.9 for undergraduate, or a GPA of about 6.8 to 6.9 on a 7.0 scale, or international equivalent), and not already holding another tuition-covering scholarship
- There is generally no separate scholarship application: apply for admission to an eligible Adelaide program by the deadline, meet all admission conditions (unconditional), and you are automatically considered, with recipients confirmed at the point of offer/acceptance (some applicant categories use a scholarship application form)
- Provides a 50% reduction in international tuition fees
