About this scholarship
The Melbourne Research Scholarship covers the full cost of a graduate research degree (Master by Research or PhD) at the University of Melbourne, one of Australia’s top universities.
Eligibility
Open to international and domestic students with a strong academic record. Must apply for a graduate research degree (Master by Research or PhD). Equivalent of an Australian First Class Honours degree.

Academic transcripts, Degree certificates, Research proposal, CV, Two academic referee reports, English proficiency (IELTS 6.5+ overall)
How to Apply
- Be a domestic or international student who has applied for and meets the entry requirements for a Master's by Research or doctoral (PhD) degree at the University of Melbourne (coursework master's are not eligible)
- There is no separate scholarship application: apply for the graduate research course by the course closing date and you are automatically considered, scored and ranked on the academic achievement of your last degree and your research potential
- Awards provide a full tuition fee offset, a living allowance (around AUD 39,500/year, indexed), a relocation grant, and (for international students) Overseas Student Health Cover
