About this scholarship

The University of Tartu Dora Plus program supports international doctoral students conducting research at Estonia’s oldest and most prestigious university. Funded by the European Regional Development Fund, it covers tuition and provides a monthly living allowance. Estonia is one of the most digitally advanced nations in the world, making it an ideal destination for research in computer science, data science, and digital governance.

Eligibility

Must be a citizen of a country outside the EU/EEA. Must hold a Master's degree or equivalent. Must be accepted into a doctoral program at the University of Tartu. Must have a research proposal approved by a University of Tartu supervisor. Strong academic record and clear research plan required.

How to Apply

  • Note that the Dora Plus programme (an EU-funded Estonian scholarship scheme supporting incoming international master's and PhD students for study and research mobility at Estonian universities, including the University of Tartu) has concluded and is no longer issuing new calls or accepting applications
  • Historically, master's students applied via the university's electronic form for a monthly living allowance, and visiting doctoral students applied through a University of Tartu supervisor for a monthly allowance plus a travel allowance
