About this scholarship
Wageningen University & Research, the world’s #1 university for agriculture and forestry, offers dedicated scholarships for outstanding African students to pursue Master’s programmes. The Africa Scholarship Programme (ASP) aims to contribute to the development of sub-Saharan Africa by educating future leaders in food security, nutrition, climate adaptation, and environmental management. Full funding covers tuition, living expenses, and travel.
Eligibility
Must be a citizen of a sub-Saharan African country. Must have been admitted to a Wageningen University Master's programme. Must have an excellent academic record (top of class). Must demonstrate strong motivation and commitment to contributing to African development. Must not have previously studied in the Netherlands.

How to Apply
- Be a citizen of an African country, an excellent student with a first-class honours bachelor's degree and a GPA of around 80% or higher (preference to those without a master's yet)
- First submit a complete application to an eligible Wageningen MSc programme before the deadline (around 1 February) and gain unconditional admission; admitted candidates are then assessed, and only those invited by email (around April) join the ASP selection procedure (which may include an assignment, with some places allocated by lot)
- The scholarship is fully funded: tuition, living allowance, travel, visa costs, and health insurance for the duration of the two-year master's
