Mastercard Scholarship at UWC Details
The Mastercard Foundation Scholars Program at UWC is designed to develop transformative leaders by enabling talented, service-oriented young Africans to pursue higher education. For the 2024/25 academic year, the program will fully fund undergraduate and master’s degree studies.
Eligibility Requirements
Eligibility Requirements To Study in Africa For Undergraduates
To be considered for the undergraduate scholarship, applicants must:
- Be no older than 26 years at the time of application.
- Meet the University’s minimum admissions requirements (visit www.uwc.ac.za for program-specific details) and have applied for academic admission to the University for 2025.
- Be prepared to register for full-time undergraduate study in January 2025.
- Provide evidence that access to university studies is impeded by social and economic barriers.
Eligibility Requirements To Study in Africa For Masters
To be considered for the master’s scholarship, applicants must:
- Be no older than 30 years at the time of application.
- Meet the University’s minimum admissions requirements (visit www.uwc.ac.za for program-specific details) and have applied for academic admission to the University for 2024.
- Be prepared to begin their first year of full-time master’s degree study in January 2024.
- Provide evidence that access to university studies is impeded by social and economic barriers.
Special Emphasis
The program places particular emphasis on reaching young women, refugees, forcibly displaced youth, and young people living with disabilities.
