Scholarship Details
The Adam Smith Business School offers a combined MRes/PhD training scheme in Economics. This prestigious program starts with a two-year MRes (Master of Research) course. Successful candidates who achieve a high level in the MRes program will be given priority for admission into the three to four-year PhD stage. The University of Glasgow will fund up to six studentships, covering tuition fees and a stipend for up to five years. This funding allows students to receive comprehensive MRes training and subsequently undertake supervised independent research, leading to a PhD.

Eligibility Requirements for the Scholarship 2024
To be considered for the University of Glasgow Graduate Scholarship, you must:
- Hold an offer for the MRes Economics program starting in September 2024.
Benefits to study in UK
The scholarship provides funding for up to five years, contingent on successful progression and acceptance into the PhD program. The benefits include:
- Tuition fees at the standard Home/EU or international rate.
- An annual bursary equivalent to the RCUK rate, estimated at £15,245 for 2022/23.
- A research support grant of £750 per annum during the three PhD years.
