Student life

Most universities are in Beirut and its suburbs, and the private universities teach in English or French. Since the economic crisis that began in 2019, daily costs depend heavily on the US dollar, and power cuts mean many buildings rely on private generators. Getting around depends on shared taxis, minibuses and ride-hailing apps. Security conditions can change quickly, so check current government travel advice and the university's plans before committing.
