Unfortunately, candidates who have only completed their full-time bachelor’s degree and are not enrolled in a graduate programme are not eligible.

    • Language Skills: A strong command of English or French is required, with proficiency in both written and spoken forms. Knowledge of the other language is an asset and may be necessary for certain internships.

    • Supporting Documents: Interns must provide their ID/Certificate of Enrollment/Diploma if they have recently graduated.
    • Leave: Interns are entitled to 2.5 days of leave per month.

    Before Applying

Prepare your motivation letter and résumé before starting the application process, as you will have only one hour to complete it. Ensure your contact details remain valid for the next six months and apply using either English or French. If your documents are not in these languages, provide an unofficial translation.

Please note, the UNESCO Internship Program does not offer financial compensation or remuneration for internship assignments. While eligibility does not guarantee placement due to the competitive nature of applications, being selected for an internship is a significant achievement. Your application will be accessible to UNESCO managers worldwide and remain in our internship portal for six months. Due to the volume of applications, only successful candidates will be contacted.

    What to Expect

Interns at UNESCO will have the chance to work under the guidance of experienced professionals, contributing to projects and activities that make a real difference in the world. The internship can vary in length, generally lasting from one to six months, providing a flexible framework to accommodate the needs of both the organization and the interns.

Throughout the internship, participants will engage in the preparation of specific projects or, equally important, the day-to-day operations of UNESCO. This hands-on experience not only enriches academic knowledge but also enhances skills in various areas, including research, writing, organizational strategy, and communication.

    UNESCO Internship Key Benefits

    • Professional Exposure: Interns gain firsthand exposure to UNESCO’s work and contribute to the organization’s projects, enhancing their understanding and skills in fields of interest.
    • Global Network: The Program provides an opportunity to connect with professionals and experts from around the globe, expanding your professional network.
    • Cultural Exchange: Working in a multicultural environment allows interns to gain new perspectives and understand different cultures and their heritage.
    • Skill Development: The programme focuses on the development of specific competencies such as project management, analytical skills, and effective communication.
