Bangor University
Why study here
Bangor University is a public university in Bangor, a small city in North Wales, founded in 1884 as the University College of North Wales. It is known for ocean sciences, with a marine research centre on the Menai Strait, as well as psychology and environmental and forestry sciences. Bangor teaches many courses in Welsh as well as English, though international students study in English. The area, between the mountains of Eryri and the sea, has lower living costs than most UK cities.
