About This Opportunity

The IMF Economist Program (EP) is the primary entry point for PhD economists to begin a career at the International Monetary Fund. EPs work on macroeconomic policy, financial stability, international trade, and country surveillance across the IMF's 190 member countries. The program includes rotational assignments across multiple IMF departments, providing broad exposure to the Fund's work. After 3-4 years, successful EPs are promoted to Economist positions.

Eligibility

  • Must hold or be near completion of a PhD in economics or a closely related field (finance, public policy with quantitative focus). Must be under 33 years of age. Must be a citizen of an IMF member country. Strong quantitative and analytical skills required.
