About this scholarship
Schwarzman Scholars is an international scholarship program at Tsinghua University in Beijing, designed to prepare the next generation of global leaders for a world where China plays a central role. Modeled on the Rhodes Scholarship, it provides a 1-year master’s degree in Global Affairs. With USD 500M+ in endowment, it is one of the most generously funded programs in history.
Eligibility
Applicants aged 18-28 from any country. Strong undergraduate academic record. Demonstrated leadership and desire to understand China's role in global affairs. All nationalities; diverse backgrounds strongly encouraged.

Required Documents
- Valid passport (min 6 months validity)
- Bachelor's degree certificate and transcripts
- Two academic reference letters
- English language proficiency (IELTS 6.5+ or TOEFL 90+)
- Updated CV/Resume
- Statement of purpose / Motivation letter
- Proof of financial capability (if applicable)
How to Apply
- Hold (or be on track to complete by the August before enrolment) an undergraduate degree in any field, be under about 28 to 29 years old, with strong English (all teaching is in English; Chinese is not required), of any nationality
- Submit the online application with academic transcripts, essays, recommendation letters, and a CV by the deadline (Mainland China/Hong Kong/Taiwan/Macao applicants around May; all other applicants around September)
- Attend an interview if shortlisted. Fully funded: tuition, room and board, travel to and from Beijing, an in-country study tour, health insurance, and a personal stipend
