Study in Bulgaria

Student visa or residence permit required for non-EU/EEA nationals. Apply after you receive an admission letter.

• Completed secondary education for bachelor's, or a relevant bachelor's degree for master's
• Proof of Bulgarian for Bulgarian-taught programs, or English for English-taught programs
• Academic transcripts and certificates, translated and attested where required
• Valid passport and an admission or acceptance letter from the institution
• Proof of funds and a student visa or residence permit where applicable

Bulgaria is among the least expensive EU countries to live in, and Sofia sits at the foot of Vitosha mountain with skiing within reach of the city. Plovdiv and Varna also host universities. English-taught medicine is the main international draw, and EU recognition of the degrees is a large part of the appeal.
