Study in Costa Rica

Student visa required. Apply with your admission letter and proof of funds after you are accepted.

• Completed secondary education for bachelor's, or a relevant bachelor's degree for master's
• Proof of Spanish for Spanish-taught programs, or English for English-taught programs
• Academic transcripts and certificates, translated and attested where required
• Valid passport and an admission or acceptance letter from the institution
• Proof of funds and a student visa or residence permit where applicable

Costa Rica is politically stable, has no standing army, and protects a remarkable share of its territory, which makes it a natural base for environmental and biology programs. San José hosts the main universities. It is more expensive than most of Central America, but study-abroad infrastructure is excellent.
