Kazakhstan Government Scholarship

The Kazakhstan Government Scholarship is offered by the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan to international students for undergraduate, master’s, and doctoral study at Kazakh universities. It is part of the country’s effort to internationalise its higher education and attract foreign students to study in Kazakhstan.

The award is fully funded, covering full tuition fees and a monthly stipend, for the standard duration of the chosen programme. It is available across bachelor’s, master’s, and PhD levels and opens the door to study at Kazakhstan’s universities, with the language of instruction depending on the programme.

Eligibility is for foreign citizens (including persons of Kazakh nationality who are not citizens of Kazakhstan) studying at the chosen level for the first time, who meet the academic and university admission requirements, and may need language proficiency depending on the programme. You apply online through the operator’s portal (the National Center for Higher Education Development, ENIC-KAZAKHSTAN) during the call, around late March to late May, submitting your identity documents, prior-education certificate and transcript, a motivational essay, and a medical certificate, with shortlisted applicants taking online testing. For international students considering Central Asia, it is a fully funded government option.
