Taiwan Scholarship (MOE) 2027
About this scholarship
The Taiwan Scholarship, funded by Taiwan’s Ministry of Education, supports international students taking full degrees (bachelor’s, master’s, PhD) at Taiwanese universities, with a tuition subsidy plus a monthly living stipend of NTD 15,000 for undergraduates and NTD 20,000 for graduate students.
Applications are submitted to the Taiwan embassy or representative office (TECO) in your country, each of which runs its own competition, alongside a separate admission application to your chosen Taiwanese universities.
The annual application window at most offices runs 1 February to 31 March. The next cycle for autumn 2027 entry is expected to open on 1 February 2027.
Eligibility
- International student holding a foreign nationality (restrictions for those with prior Taiwan residency or ROC nationality)
- Not currently enrolled in a Taiwanese institution at the same level
- Meet the admission requirements of your chosen Taiwanese universities
- Apply through the Taiwan representative office serving your country
Benefits & Coverage
- Tuition and academic fee subsidy up to NTD 40,000 per semester (you pay any excess)
- Monthly stipend of NTD 15,000 (undergraduate) or NTD 20,000 (graduate)
- Award period up to the standard length of the degree

How to Apply
- Apply separately for admission to Taiwanese universities (deadlines vary by school)
- Submit the Taiwan Scholarship application to your local Taiwan representative office between 1 February and 31 March
- The office announces results around May to June
- Confirm enrollment and the scholarship starts with the autumn semester
