Study in Azerbaijan

• Students who need a visa apply with the university's invitation; after arrival, get a temporary residence permit from the State Migration Service, usually with university help.
• Show proof of tuition payment or funds for living costs, plus health insurance, as the university and embassy request.
• The ASAN e-visa is for short visits only; study needs the proper student visa and residence permit.

Baku, on the Caspian coast, hosts most universities and nearly all English-taught programs. The city has a walled old town, a long seafront boulevard and an inexpensive metro, though rents in central Baku are higher than elsewhere in the country. Summers are hot and winter winds off the Caspian are strong. Russian is still widely used alongside Azerbaijani, and it is sensible to check current travel advice before visiting areas near the Armenian border.
