Study in Bangladesh

• Apply online at visa.gov.bd for a student visa with your admission letter; the institution's letter must be attested by the Ministry of Education in Dhaka
• Student visas are issued for up to one year with multiple entries and extended in Dhaka by the Department of Immigration and Passports for the course
• No fixed funds figure is published; show that you can pay tuition and living costs as the Bangladesh mission asks
• Extensions need a reference from your institution and a police clearance certificate

• HSC, A levels or an equivalent for bachelor's, and a relevant bachelor's degree for master's
• English: IELTS, TOEFL or another test the university accepts, unless English is your first language or you studied in English
• Public universities hold competitive admission tests; international students usually apply under a separate foreign-student quota
• Apply through the university's admission portal during the announced cycle
• Official transcripts and certificates, with certified translations if they are not in English or Bengali
• A valid passport, proof that you can pay tuition and living costs, and the admission letter attested by the Ministry of Education for the student visa

Most universities are in Dhaka, with others in Chattogram, Rajshahi and Sylhet, and living costs are among the lowest in Asia. Dhaka is very crowded and traffic is slow, though the metro rail now speeds up some journeys. The monsoon brings heavy rain from about June to October, and summers are hot and humid. Check current government travel advice, as strikes and protests can disrupt classes and transport at times.
