About this scholarship

Leiden University offers three levels of Excellence Scholarships for outstanding non-EU/EEA Master’s students: 10,000 EUR tuition fee waiver, 15,000 EUR waiver, or full tuition waiver.

Eligibility

Non-EU/EEA students admitted to a Leiden University Master's program. Outstanding academic record. Must be applying for first Master's degree.

How to Apply

  • Be an academically outstanding student (typically top 10% of your prior studies) with a non-EEA/non-EFTA passport, applying to an eligible full-time Leiden master's (LLM non-advanced and some Law/MSc programmes are excluded)
  • First apply online for admission to the master's and pay any application fee
  • Then, in the Scholarships section of the application, indicate you want the LExS and upload a motivation letter (max 500 words) by the deadline (1 February for September start, 1 October for February start)
