About this scholarship
The Malaysian International Scholarship (MIS) is offered by the Malaysian Government to top international students for postgraduate study at Malaysian public and private universities. Malaysia offers high-quality English-medium education at significantly lower costs than Western countries. The scholarship covers Master’s and PhD programs across all fields. Kuala Lumpur is a modern, multicultural city with excellent infrastructure and affordable living costs.
Eligibility
Open to international students from all countries. Must have a strong academic record (minimum CGPA 3.0/4.0 or equivalent). Must hold a Bachelor's degree (for Master's) or Master's degree (for PhD). Must be under 40 years of age. Must not currently hold any other Malaysian government scholarship. Must meet English language requirements (IELTS 6.0+ or TOEFL 80+). Must be in good health.

How to Apply
- Be a citizen of an MIS recipient country, within the age limit (around 40 for postgraduate), with a strong academic record (about Second Class Upper or CGPA 3.5/4.0), intending to pursue (or already in, with enough time remaining) full-time master's or PhD study at an approved Malaysian university
- Secure admission (a conditional or offer letter is accepted at application)
- Apply online through the official Ministry of Higher Education portal during the annual call (often around April to June), uploading the required documents
