About this scholarship
The Swedish Institute Scholarships for Global Professionals (SISGP) is a fully funded scholarship program offered by the Swedish Institute (SI) for students from eligible countries who wish to pursue a full-time Master’s degree at a Swedish university. The program targets future leaders who demonstrate professional experience, academic excellence, and a commitment to contributing to sustainable development in their home countries. Over 300 scholarships are awarded annually across a wide range of fields.
Eligibility
Citizens of eligible countries (check SI website for list). Must apply to a Master's program starting in the autumn semester. Leadership experience and professional/academic ambitions required.
Benefits & Coverage
- Full tuition fees at a Swedish university covered for the entire Master's program (1–2 years)
- Monthly living allowance of SEK 10,000 (~€900) per month

Required Documents
- Valid passport (min 6 months validity)
- Bachelor's degree certificate and transcripts
- Two academic reference letters
- English language proficiency (IELTS 6.5+ or TOEFL 90+)
- Updated CV/Resume
- Statement of purpose / Motivation letter
- Proof of financial capability (if applicable)
How to Apply
- Be a citizen of one of the eligible countries (around 33 to 34 countries) with the required work experience (about 3,000 hours) and demonstrated leadership experience (from employment or civil-society engagement), and be liable to pay tuition fees in Sweden
- First apply for an eligible English-taught master's programme at universityadmissions.se by mid-January, then apply for the SI Scholarship for Global Professionals through the SI online portal during its window (around February), using the mandatory SI templates (motivation letter, CV, two reference letters, proof of work/leadership experience, passport copy)
- You must be admitted to an eligible programme by the admission results date. Note: this programme (SISGP) replaced the former Swedish Institute Study Scholarships (SISS). Fully funded: tuition, a monthly living allowance, and a one-time travel grant
